Street Wedding Photography – Food Service

Street Wedding Photography

I thought it would be interesting to start a new, occassional series where I feauture a wedding photo that is really inspired by my love of street photography.  The hardest decision here was whether to call that series Wedding Street Photography or, as I settled on eventually, Street Wedding Photography. These are important decisions I’ll have you know! 🙂

As regular readers know I am passionate about candid street photography – capturing fleeting decisive moments or the a split second of unsual in the usual – and use that candid street approach to also creep into my wedding photography.

This first image in the series is from Charlene and David’s wedding at the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church in Luton, Bedforshire. Given my documentary approach and desire to capture all aspects of the day’s wedding service, I had crept behind the scenes to photograph the dessert being prepared and served…and caught that fleeting moment where one of the waitresses peered under the shutters to see what what happening…and bingo! It’s those eyes/face looking through that take an interesting documentary scene and elevate it into something a little more unusual – like the very best street photography. That’s why I like to call it street wedding photography.

If you are getting married and enjoy my street photography approach to wedding photography, then I’d love to chat with you about your wedding plans. You can call me on 07920 422144 or send me a message via my contact page. Your personal details are never shared with anyone and I’ll be delighted to hear from you.
