My role throughout the day was simply to observe, anticipate and quietly document everything as it unfolded. From the nervous excitement during the morning preparations to the laughter during the speeches, emotional embraces after the ceremony and energetic dancing later in the evening, every photograph forms part of the complete story of their wedding day.
Unlike traditional wedding photography, my documentary approach, inspired by street photography, isn’t about directing moments or asking people to repeat them for the camera. Instead, I capture real interactions, genuine laughter, unexpected tears and all the little moments in between that often become the most treasured memories years later.
This unobtrusive style allows couples to fully immerse themselves in their wedding while I create a visual record of the day exactly as it happened.
A Beautiful Wedding at Grittleton House
From the moment guests arrived at Grittleton House, there was an atmosphere of warmth, excitement and anticipation.
The ceremony was full of heartfelt emotion and laughter as Rosalind and Lewis exchanged vow at the beautiful St Mary the Virgin Church, just across the road from Grittleton House. As a Wedding Photojournalist, these are the moments I live for, not because they’re perfectly posed, but because they’re completely authentic.
Following the ceremony, like many of my couples, Rosalind and Lewis also wanted a few relaxed portraits together. We spent just a short time in the grounds of St Mary the Virgin Church, creating a handful of natural portraits without taking them away from their guests for long. There were no awkward poses or forced smiles, just photographs that felt like them. This why my Classic Wedding Photography Package was perfect for them.
After a short walk back across to Grittleton House, everyone gathered to enjoy drinks in the stunning grounds. Children played on the lawns, guests caught up with old friends, and laughter echoed around the gardens. Rather than interrupting these moments, I quietly documented them as they naturally unfolded, creating a gallery that genuinely reflects the atmosphere of the day.
